Results
All procedures were successfully completed.
Mean overall procedure time was 48 ±12 min.
On the day of the procedure,
the mean VAS score was 6,5 ± 1,5 (range 4,5–8,5).
It decreased to 1,9 ±1.3 by the 24-hour postoperative time point and was 1,5 ± 1.2 at 1 week and 1,34 ± 1.8 at 1 month.
The mean VAS score at all of the post-operative time points differed significantly from the preoperative baseline score (P: 0.05).
2 patients (11 %) were symptomatic at 1 month,
although the mean reduction in VAS score was 40 %.
Only 1 patient had recurrence of symptoms with disease progression at 1 month follow-up.
Analgesic use evaluation showed that the patients had a statisticaly significant reduction in analgesic use after the procedure (score: 1,1±0,4 vs 2,4±0,3; P:0,05).
Asymptomatic cement leakages were not considered complications and were identified in 5 patients (26%).
No mild or severe complications were identified.
