Aims and objectives
Extracranial carotid artery aneurysm is a very rare pathology with frequency no more than 4% of peripheral artery aneurysms [1-3].
Aneurysms of the carotid arteries have a variety of etiological factors including genetically determined anomaly of the connective tissue,
traumatic damage and other factors [1,4].
Clinical symptoms of extracranial carotid aneurysms vary from asymptomatic course to the feeling of pulsating lesion in the neck,
cerebral circulation disorders (stroke) or rupture of the aneurysm [5-9].
Well-timed diagnosis and subsequent treatment of this pathology are actual problems of modern medicine due to the possible severe manifestations of the disease [4-9].
Ultrasound investigation is the most accessible method for diagnosing of the carotid arteries pathologies.

such as operator dependence,
and limited ability to evaluate low accessible segments of brachiocephalic arteries.
Computed angiography (CTA) is a non-invasive method for assessing condition of carotid arteries and vertebrobasilar system.
It is characterized by high sensitivity and specificity.
the questions of CTA in assessement of extracranial carotid arteries aneurysms are not well covered.
Aim of the study: to analyze possibilities of CTA in assessment of extracranial carotid aneurysms.
