Learning objectives
To indicate imaging findings of male breast cancer with cases of different types.
Background
Male breast cancer (MBC) is very rare compared to the women population. The prevalance is approximalety %1 (1).
MBC generally presents in 60-70 years of age.
Invasive ducal carcinoma (IDC) is the most common type.
There is no standardized screening programme for MBC.
Mammography should be the first imaging modality in men with palpated mass lesion in breast (2).
Since easy accesibility and lower prices,
sonographic imaging can be the first line imaging modality at times and patients may undergo biopsy without mammographic imaging.

Findings and procedure details
In the light of those aforementioned details,
we will now discuss imaging findings of MBC and present some cases.
Sonography:
MBC typically presents with same sonographic imaging features as in women.
In most of the cases,
it arises from subareolar region andit appears as nonparallel,
hypoechoic solid lesion with irregular and spiculated contours (Figure 1).
Lesions generally have hyperechoic halos due to desmoplastic reaction and show acoustic shadowing.
One should also examine the axillary region since half of the MBC present with axillary lymph node...
Conclusion
As a result,
even in young age group,
palpable lesion in male breast can be the only symptom of MBC.MBC generally presents with retroareolar mass lesion and generally detected in advanced stage probably due to lack of screening programme.
Diagnostic imaging with sonography,
mammography and magnetic resonance should be performed in male patients who admit with tenderness,
enlargement and/or palpated mass in the breast.
