Background
The consultations with the involvement of the urological system are very frequent in the emergency department,
as for example obstructive (lithiasis),
traumatic,
including vascular,
and infections are common in the guards.

Diagnostic images intervene in different stages of the diagnostic process in the emergency room.
In general,
the imaging study begins with renal ultrasound,
widely used in the diagnosis of obstructive or infectious pathology,
which is an acceptable method for an initial evaluation.
However,
in patients with indeterminate results and high clinical suspicion,
for example in renal trauma,
the CT scan provides more anatomical detail,
which added to the use of intravenous contrast,
allows an adequate evaluation of the renal parenchyma,
the excretory pathway,
and the vascular pedicle.
On the other hand,
ultrasound also offers the possibility of a dynamic evaluation of the bladder,
walls,
and contents,
very important in patients with suspected urological trauma.
Different cases of our institution are presented,
evaluated in conjunction with the urology staff.
Finally,
we present the relevant findings that should be communicated in the report in the multidisciplinary care of urological urgency.
