Background
Metastases,
malignant and benign tumors of the sacrum are not uncommon and need to be differentiated from tumor mimics.
Clinical history and imaging findings can help narrow the differential diagnosis.
We aim to demonstrate the imaging features for detecting and characterizing tumors mimics.
TUMOR LIKE LESIONS
Are not a real tumors!
They are lesions with imaging findings that mimic tumors
- Congenital - Developmental
- Inflammatory - Infectious
- Metabolic - Reactive
- Post-traumatic,
post - therapeutic
- Miscellaneous
Although they don’t represent true neoplasms tumor like lesions should be considered in the differential diagnosis of sacral lesions
