1. 2017 marks the beginning of the second decade of the Image Gently Alliance® (Figure 1)
2. The Alliance is an assurance organization:
a. Assurance = a positive declaration that is intended to give confidence; a promise”
b. The Alliance advocates for a positive approach to informed and appropriate use of medical radiation,
not a “harm and alarm” position
3. There is a continued need for these efforts [1-8]

NAME CHANGE: previously the Alliance for Radiation Safety in Pediatric Imaging is now the Image Gently Alliance [8],
more resonant and familiar appellation.

a. broadening the focus on less radiation to using the right amount,
b. the Alliance advocates informed use of radiation rather than focusing only on dose reduction,

There is still need for global Campaign efforts [16-18]. Benchmarking the impact of efforts by using the EuroSafe Imaging Action Items is one strategy to underscore the value of campaigns,
such as from the Image Gently Alliance … with reassurance as one important goal.
