EPF Campaign on Access to Healthcare #Access2030
In 2017,
EPF launched a flagship campaign on access to healthcare.
This theme is a long standing priority for EPF and its membership,
and is at the heart of the vision of the organisation.
The campaign is an opportunity to raise awareness about the barriers patients face in accessing healthcare,
and to build on current political momentum,
including the UN sustainable development goals for health,

Description of activity and work performed
Targets of the Campaign
The campaign will ask the European Commission and Member States to adopt an action plan on universal access to healthcare in consultation with health stakeholders in order to achieve universal health coverage for EU patients by 2030.
EU member states need to achieve universal health coverage and to improve access to healthcare by 2030 according to the UN sustainable development goals.
Yet with the recent economic downturn,
short term cuts have won against long term vision for societal improvement.

Conclusion and Recommendations

By December 2017,
EPF will produce a set of recommendations for the 5 specific areas of actions.
Each area will draw its conclusions,
in collaboration with a champion MEP and EPF members.
These recommendations will be included in an action plan on universal health coverage for the European Commission and Members to achieve this crucial objective by 2030.
