Background/Introduction
Documentation and communication is one of the essentials in Radiology.
There is actually a huge interest in developing templates for reporting,
which provide structured informations.
This way of reporting,
called "Structured Reporting",
is supported by different societies as ESR and RSNA and also by the development of an IHE integration profile (MRRT für Management of Radiology Reporting Templates)[1].
There are different initiatives in the developing of templates,
as the oined initiative of ESR and RSNA with the TLAP-Committee (Template Library Advisory Panel).
Additionally there are...
Description of activity and work performed
Based on former developments building a tool for using Structured Reporting templates,
we have developed a tool for managing templates and report creation according to the IHE MRRT profile.
We have developed several IHE MRRT compliant templates,
very often as a joint initiative with colleagues from other disciplines.
Such templates can be focused on a dedicated clinical question,
e.g.
local staging of Rectal Cancer or more general,
e.g.
trauma imaging for polytrauma patients.
Such templates can be feed by the RIS,
e.g.
for clinical informations...
Conclusion and Recommendations
Structured Reporting using the IHE MRRT approach can be combined with structured dose documentation.
