Background/introduction
Structured reporting has been under discussion in radiology for many years.
In recent years,
the development of the joint initiative of RSNA and ESR with the Templates Library Advisory Panel (TLAP) has provided a platform for quality-checked templates based on the IHE standard for radiology templates.
The development of the new EU Radiation Safety Directive requires that dose exposure be considered in the context of the findings.
Up to now,
radiological findings have mainly been made in so-called radiology information systems (RIS).
These systems typically...
Description of activity and work performed
The platform for reporting with SR templates has been described in earlier papers (1).
This diagnostic solution is compatible with the IHE MRRT profile (Management of Radiology Report Templates).
Templates developed by scientific societies (ESR,
RSNA,
DRG and others) can be used as well as self-developed templates.
When the templates are imported into the diagnostic solution,
database entries are automatically created for all fields in the backend of the diagnostic solution.
Based on this development,
a module has been developed that automatically receives and evaluates...
Conclusion and recommendations
The combination of structured reporting,
automated processing of DOSE reports and quality aspects is easy to implement and opens up new possibilities for further evaluations.
