Conclusion and recommendations
Radiation exposure in interventional radiology procedures should be carefully monitored in medical staff and also in patients because of it s possible harmful effect. Medical personnel working with radiation should be aware of the radiation dose acquired during specific interventional radiology procedures. Knowledge on procedural radiation dose is mandatory for optimalisation of radiation protection during interventional procedures. As we anticipated dose strongly depends on the type of procedure mainly because of procedural time elongation due to procedure complexity and distance between the scatter source and the radiologist. Current study gives us an inside to both patient and interventional radiologist´s doses during different interventional radiological procedures.
