21 workers out of 22 took part of the course as trainees; this implies 96% of the professionals invited to participate, an attendance rate that has increased in 30% comparing with the face-to-face traditional training.
All the participants passed the final exam, with an average mark of 8.95 out of 10 and according to the satisfaction survey, the general average satisfaction with the course was 9.2 out of 10. Due to the accreditation of the training, which includes CME credits and an official diploma to the participants that pass the education, the participants are more satisfied with the course.
Thanks to the digital format the contents of the course can be more complete than in face to face way; face to face lessons were limited to 1-2 hours biennially, because professionals could not abandon their duties. Now, the course is quite complete, covering almost every aspect of radiation protection applied to our nuclear medicine department. It also gives the possibility to go further in following editions. This material is easily exportable and may be useful for other departments to implement some similar online training programme and it will be openly offered through the Spanish Society of Radiation Protection (SEPR).
