Learning objectives
Current medical school cohorts are made up of approximately 50% males to females (1). Despite this, the Clinical Radiology trainee demographics from the last 5 years remain predominantly male dominated (2).
Clinical Radiology is academically challenging, offers a wide range of subspecialty options and achievable work hours for a good work life balance, meaning it caters to a wide range of personalities and priorities.
The main aims of the project are as follows:
- Identify reasons for this gender gap
- Identify reasons why more junior doctors are not pursuing a career in Radiology
- are these modifiable?
- are there differences between male and female junior doctors reasons?
