Purpose
The role of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) in gynecologic oncology has evolved during the past two decades. There is now a substantial body of evidence that MRI is useful in evaluating malignant conditions of the pelvis.(1,2,3) MRI has been shown to be superior than CT in staging of endometrial and cervical carcinoma.(4) Although sonography remains the primary imaging modality for the characterization of adnexal masses as benign or malign; MR imaging is an important modality as a problem-solving technique up to %90 accuracy ratio . (5,6,7) The necessity of using contrast agent in these examinations is especially specified (8,9). It has been specified that MRI is a great advantage of low cost by restrict the expensive additional examination and invasive diagnostic and surgical treatment in committed examination (8,9).
LAVA (Liver Acquisition with Volume Acceleration ) sequence is a three dimensional rapid spoiled gradient echo ( GE ) sequence with fat suppression .It obtains regular and standard fat suppression in contrast enhanced images. This technique is developed for imaging liver with high resolution in one breath-hold .It gives objective and rapid information about contrast behaviour of lessions in case of using with digital substruction technique .We have not seen any study of gynecologic pathologies by using fat suppressed dynamic GE sequence and digital subtraction technique yet.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the diagnostic efficiency of the difference of benign or malign lessions by the dynamic pelvic MRI which includes LAVA sequence and digital subtraction technique on the patients with gynecologic pathology.
