Results
Survey was conducted on 9 patients but the cases included in the study are 10 in that a patient was also stuedied after therapy.
Based on the answers given by the respondent neuroradiologist,
it was possible to group the cases studied in 3 main categories: positive result with overlap of the findings between both color maps; doubt result; negative outcome with lack of overlap of the findings.
In 8 out of 9 cases,
a good match of the findings was found.
In one case the chromatic maps obtained with both sequences have generated doubts of interpretation deriving from the presence of gross calcifications contextual to the lesion.
In particular,
in cases with a positive outcome,
the neuroradiologist would have arrived at substantially the same conclusions if he had only available the CBF maps.
pCASL,
naturally expressing itself in a more coarse way since it is an absolute assessment that is not normalized with the contralateral hemisphere such as is possible in DSCE.
