Aims and objectives
Chondrolysis of the hip is characterised by rapidly progressive destruction of the articular cartilage of the femoral head and acetabulum with resultant joint space narrowing and restricted movement.
The causes of Chondrolysis in children include 1.Slipped capital femoral epiphysis 2.Severe trauma 3.Prolonged immobilisation 4.Infective arthritis 5.Juvenile idiopathic arthritis 6.Perthes disease & 7.Idiopathic Chondrolysis of Hip.
Idiopathic Chondrolysis of Hip is a rare pediatric musculoskeletal disorder usually affecting females .The usual presentation includes painful,
stiff hip of unknown etiology.
The aim of our study is to STAGE the disease based on the radiological progression of appearances. This helps in the early diagnosis and treatment,
and assessing the prognosis of this condition.
