Learning objectives
-To illustrate typical and atypical imaging patterns seen in patients treated in our Institute affected by both primary and secondary hepatic lymphomas, using CT and MRI as the main radiological techniques.
-Make emphasis on differential diagnosis with other solid liver masses.
Background
Hepatic lymphoma refers to any form of hepatic involvement with lymphoma. It can be classified into primary hepatic lymphoma or secondary hepatic involvement with lymphoma, the latter being by far the most common. Non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) predominates in both forms.
Imaging findings in hepatic lymphoma are extremely variable and overlap with many other pathologies, even though some imaging manifestations might be helpful in an adequate clinical and analytical setting to suggest lymphoma as the main suspected diagnosis.

Findings and procedure details
1. INTRODUCTION
Primary hepatic lymphoma (PHL)
PHL is very rare, accounting for less than 1% of all non-Hodgkin lymphomas. To be classified as the primary form, the disease should be confined to the liver and regional lymph nodes, and according to some authors, the diagnosis of PHL also requires the absence of distant disease within six months after the diagnosis.
It is usually diagnosed in the 4th-5th decade and shows a male predominance.
Many etiologic factors have been proposed in the pathophysiology of PHL such...
Conclusion
The imaging manifestations of hepatic lymphoma are mostly non-specific, but some imaging findings might be helpful in an adequate laboratory and clinical setting.
The principal goal of radiologic imaging evaluation is to know the typical and atypical patterns of hepatic lymphoma to provide a proper differential diagnosis and pertinent patient management.
