Background/Introduction
Themissionof EuroSafe Imaging is tosupportandstrengthen medical radiation protectionacrossEuropefollowing a holistic,
inclusive approach.
EuroSafe Imaging Stars is an initiative designed to identify and recognise imaging facilities worldwide that embody best practice in radiation protection.
By partnering with institutions that are committed to putting the principles advocated and concepts developed by the European Society of Radiology into practice,
EuroSafe Imaging aims to bridge the gap from raising awareness and advocacy to impacting the reality of clinical practice.
In this way,
the initiative marks an important step forward...
Description of activity and work performed
‘Is your Imaging EuroSafe?’comprises aseries of surveys on CT DRLs for different indications.
The 2016 survey campaign was to dedicated the collection of data to calculate DRLs for:
· Acute head trauma CT
· Acute stroke head CT
· Chest CT for pulmonary embolism
· Chest CT: rule out pulmonary metastasis

Conclusion and Recommendations
The data collected from the Eurosafe Imaging Stars allowed the definition ofreference values (CTDI and DLP) that will serve as benchmarking for the clinical indications chosen for head and chest CT.
