Background/introduction
Over the past five years,
the Radiation Protection Pavilion at the Annual CIRSE Meeting has established itself as hotspot for all questions related to radiation safety.
The very successful campaign continues to offer information material and opportunities for congress visitors to engage directly with experts in medical physics and radiation protection.
The Radiation Protection Pavilion was launched in 2014 as an interactive awareness campaign.
Congress delegates had the opportunity to test their skills and knowledge and take part in a range of exciting activities,
including a radiation protection quiz and discussions.
The Radiation Protection Pavilion directly addressed three EuroSafe Call for Action points: developing image quality assessment based on clinical indications (Action 3),
organising radiation protection training courses and develop e-learning material to promote a safety culture and raise awareness on radiation protection (Action 8) and establishing a dialogue with industry regarding improvement of radiological equipment,
the use of up-to-date equipment (e.g.
dose management systems) and the harmonisation of exposure indicators (Action 11).
