Background/introduction
Over the past five years,
the Radiation Protection Pavilion at the Annual CIRSE Meeting has established itself as hotspot for all questions related to radiation safety.
The very successful campaign continues to offer information material and opportunities for congress visitors to engage directly with experts in medical physics and radiation protection.

Description of activity and work performed
Smart and Safe! This slogan highlighted the key theme of the 2018 Radiation Protection Pavilion: how to make your angiosuite smart and safe.
Located in front of one of the main auditoriums the campaign included an open seating and information area,
11 industry booths and the EuroSafe information stand.
A total of 28 short presentations were held by experts covering a broad range of hot topics including how to manage dose in different procedures,
how to recognise overexposure and how to choose your equipment.

Conclusion and recommendations
The exceptionally positive feedback from both physicians and industry representatives confirmed that the ultimate objective of raising awareness of radiation hazards to patients and workers can be achieved,
but that efforts and international cooperation need to be simultaneously upheld.
The engaging design of the Pavilion was perceived as a key factor in drawing attention to the Pavilion and ultimately raising awareness of radiation hazards.
