Description of activity and work performed
We retrospectively analyzed the DICOM header tags from 18520 mammographic examinations acquired by digital mammography (DM; Craniocaudal CC and mediolateral oblique MLO) of both breasts and 13750 mammographic examination by DM plus DBT respectively.
Two mammographic systems were used: Siemens Mammomat Inspiration and Inspiration Prime with Tomosynthesis respectively and GE Senograph Essential with and without Tomosynthesis upgrade.
The average glandular dose,
entrance dose and patient age were analyzed and statistical location parameters calculated.
We then compared these statistical parameters of the total glandular dose from one complete examination (2 views,
both sides) within the two periods (2014-2016) and (2017-2018).
Additional the total glandular dose difference of both mammographic systems was analyzed when using DM only and DBT and DM.
