Learning objectives
1.
Discuss using a chatbot in medical education.
2.
Demonstrate a chatbot prototype focused on helping students name labelled anatomical structures on various radiological studies.
4.
Outline the benefits of a chatbot in medical education.
5.
Postulate further uses of a chatbot in medical education.
6.
Allow delegates to trial the prototype online and provide feedback
Background
A chatbot is a computer program designed to simulate conversation with human users,
especially over the internet.
A chatbot is usually delivered through any messaging service,
such as Facebook messenger or WhatsApp.
It is believed that in 2015,
mobile messaging app usage had surpassed social media usage (Fig.
1),
making it set to overtake apps as the primary way people use the internet[1].
The innovative ways these services keep users engaged can also be applied if used as a tool for medical education.

Prototype
50 radiological anatomy images were annotated with labels and programmed into the Facebook messenger chatbot to automatically quiz users for correct answers when prompted.
Users are able to access this chatbot with any desktop or mobile device that has a working internet connection.
They are able to connect via the web link https://m.me/anatomyhero and through the Facebook Messenger app on their phone after first connecting via the web link (Fig.4,
Fig.5).
Benefits
(1) Accessibility
Given its accessibility,

Conclusion
While anatomy itself has not undergone significant changes in many years,
the approach to learning has [5].
Despite the recent uptake in digitalisation of textbook images and word text,
current methods still lack what technology has to offer,
including personalisation,
repetition and accessibility.
A chatbot provides a novel way in which people can revise radiological anatomy in their own time on their mobile phones or a desktop computer by simply chatting to a chatbot via Facebook messenger.
