Son muchas las entidades pueden producir lesiones en el clivus,
sin embargo,
la mayoría de los casos se limitan a un número reducido de patologías. La TC multidetector y la RM permiten alcanzar un diagnóstico fiable en la mayoría de los casos o,
al menos,
diferenciar entre procesos benignos y neoplasias malignas.
Además,
cuando sea necesario,
aportan una excelente definición de la extensión tumoral local.
