Renal cysts are the most common benign lesions of the kidney .Usually they don't need treatment .Unless pain and related symptoms are occured due to obstruction ,the cysts are required for the treatment.Nowadays the first choice for the cyst treatment is percutaneous aspiration and sclerotheraphy .Several differant agents and several technics has been used for the treatment.

Background
Renal cyts are the most common benign lesions of the kidney .Unless pain and related symptoms are occured due to obstruction ,the cyts are required for the treatment.
The first choice for the renal cyst treatment is percutaneous aspiration and scleroteraphy .Several different agents has been used for the treatment.
Between February 2000 till June 2011 in Baskent University School of Medicine ,Interventional Radiology Department we had done several cyst aspiration and etanol sclerotheraphy for the symptomatic cyst treatment.

The procedure is done for symptomatic patients with Bosniac type 1 .
The Choice-lock catheter is used for the 71 patients.
The choice-lock catheter enables trochar technics.The cyst aspiration is checked for cytology and any suspicious for the infection or malignancy .If is enough for the simple cyst requirements then alcohol sclerotheraphy is done .The patient is checked for any complications during procedure .After ethanol sclerotheraphy ,the patient is turned over right and left for 15 minutes for the ethanol to be destroy all the...
Conclusion
Percutaneous cyst aspiration and ethanol sclerotheraphy is done for several years in our department .The ethanol is used as the agent for destroying the epitelium tissue .Choice-lock catheter is the catheter type that enables the trochar tecnique .This is the way of the minimum complication .
The mean cyst volume was 134 cc before the procedure and 3.4 cc after the treatment .This supports that percutaneous cyst aspiration and ethanol sclerotheraphy is a successful method .In our clinic we use only choice-lock catheter .No patient...
