Aims and objectives
Many of a breast cancer is Invasive carcinoma of no special type,
and it is the most common form of invasive breast cancer[1-3].
The three patterns presented in Fig.
1 belong to invasive carcinomas of no special type.
In Japan,
invasive carcinomas of no special type are further classified as solid type,
tubule forming type,
and scirrhous type reflecting differences in tissue morphology,
lymph node metastasis rate,
differentiation degree,
and 10-year survival rate[4-7].
※The old typing(Solid-tubular carcinoma,Papillo-tubular carcinoma,Scirrhous carcinom) has been changed into new typing(Solid...
Methods and materials
Our subjects included 105 women (aged 22–75 years,
mean age 47 years) with a pathological diagnosis of Invasive breast cancer of no specific type (35 solid,
35 tubule forming,
and 35 scirrhous type) between January 2016 and March 2016.
The imaging conditions of MRI were as follows:
・Device: MRI (1.5 T) MAGNETOM Symphony SIMENS -4 channels breast array coil,
contrast injector for MRI Sonic shot GX.
・Contrast-enhanced MR
The different phases included,
pre (pre_phase),
after 1 min (injection_phase),
after 2 min (peak _phase),
and after...
Results
The graphs of Fig.
5 showed the mean of Angles A,
B,
and C and the mean of θ1 and θ2 in each,
and the pathological diagnosis of solid type,
tubule forming type,
and scirrhous type was made.
It is shown that θ1 value decreases in the order of solid type,
tubule forming type,
and scirrhous type.
The tissue was classified according to the classified TIC form pattern as Angle A = 94.3%,
Angle B = 5.7%,
Angle C = 0.0% in the solid type;...
Conclusion
The purpose of this study was to compare the TIC dissect result by MR images with the pathological-diagnosis result.
It was quantitatively a value high Sensitivity=85.7%~94.3%,
Specificity=92.9%~97.1%,
and Positive Predictive Value=85.7%~94.3% by using defined Angle(A,B,C) in Invasive carcinoma of no special type divided into three stages(Scirrhous type<Tubule forming type<Solid type) by tumor cell density.
With high quantitative values of sensitivity,
specificity,
and positive predictive values,
and using defined Angles A,
B,
and C,
the invasive carcinoma of no special type could be divided into three...
